I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through my association with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
After several years working as a teacher, parent, yoga instructor, and lifestyle coach, I earned my MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy and gained professional education and training as a counsellor.
I have a strong interest in the relationship between mental health and behavioural change and draw on my experiences as a yoga and meditation practitioner to guide my clients using mindfulness and self-compassion as paths to a more resilient and content life. As a long term spouse and mother of two young adults, I understand the challenges in building healthy relationships and the importance of building strong emotional bonds with those we love. I have a passion for working with people who are experiencing life & work transitions and for exploring body awareness as a pathway to healing and recovery.
When I’m not offering counselling to others, I try to pursue my interests and do the things I love. This means getting outside as much as possible where I enjoy gardening, hiking, cycling, camping and spending time in nature. My other pursuits include singing, cross-country skiing, meditation, playing the guitar, creating new recipes in the kitchen and getting out for some live music. Whatever the season, spending time with family & friends has a spot near the top of my “to do list”. J
