After several years working as a teacher, parent, yoga instructor, and lifestyle coach, I earned my MA in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy and gained professional education and training as a counsellor. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor .
I have a strong interest in the relationship between mental health and lifestyle change and draw on my experiences as a yoga and meditation practitioner to guide my clients using mindfulness and self-compassion as paths to a more resilient and content life. As a wife and mother of two young adults, I understand the challenges in building healthy relationships and work from a place of trust, respect and positive communication. I have a passion for working with people who are experiencing life & work transitions and for exploring body awareness as a pathway to healing and recovery. Working from a client centered and mindfulness-based approach, I use a variety of therapeutic models, including Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. These approaches encourage change through the creation of healthier behaviour and thinking patterns, new life skills and ways of being.
